Founded on 10 October 2018 in Galkacyo, Mudug Region, Kulmiye Aid Foundation (KAF) was established in response to the urgent humanitarian needs of communities across Somalia affected by conflict, drought, and extreme poverty.
Operating under registration number 227/2019, we deliver sustainable, community-centred programmes that prioritise inclusion, long-term resilience, and the dignity of every individual we serve. Our work spans Puntland and Galmudug — including HIV/AIDS and STI awareness, protection from exploitation and human trafficking, and human rights sensitisation for the most vulnerable communities.

Driver: El Niño and positive Indian Ocean Dipole amplify the Deyr rains and prolong the following dry season.
Impact: Once-in-a-generation flooding after severe drought; compound emergencies that overwhelm local capacity. Preparedness now is far cheaper than response later.
